Gulfstream Park Stakes Analysis (12-27-25)

By Jarrod Horak

In this horse racing handicapping article and video, I analyzes two stakes races at Gulfstream Park using Today’s Racing Digest Fractional Charting.

Abundantia field (race 9): 1 – Mizoula (30-1), 2 – Etrurian (8-1), 3 – Flamingo Way (9-2), 4 – Sporting Lady (12-1), 5 – Haulin Ice (5-1), 6 – Love Appeals (2-1), 7 – Le Amazonia (15-1), 8 – Moon Spun (3-1), 9 – Vindicate Cha Cha (30-1), 10 – Choose Joy (20-1).

The Abundantia is for fillies and mares dashing five furlongs on the turf course and the scheduled post time is 4:18 PM ET.

Abundantia Analysis (Top Contenders)

Flamingo Way is 2-for-2 at five panels on turf and she looked good from off the pace at this course and distance in October.

Haulin Ice has a nose for the wire and is classy and fast enough to compete for the win, but she has never raced on turf.

Love Appeals has a strong overall turf record and she should get pace to chase. She won a pair of turf sprint stakes last year and defended her title in the Incredible Revenge at Monmouth on Aug. 3. She exits a clear runner-up finish as the beaten favorite in the Floral Park at six furlongs on turf.

Moon Spun is a lightly raced 4-year-old filly and she always finishes in the top three. She ended 2024 with a turf sprint win, and she returned from a long layoff and picked up where she left off in an easy wire job in a local all-weather sprint on Nov. 27. She drilled a bullet for this on Dec. 19.

Choose Joy frequently finishes in the exacta in turf races at Gulfstream. The veteran mare should be finishing at a price and might be worth using underneath.

Mr. Prospector field (race 10): 1 – White Abarrio (1-1), 2 – Knightsbridge (7-5), 3 – Wound Up (12-1), 4 – Super Chow (20-1), 5 – Lethal Speed (50-1), 6 – Hold My Bourbon (15-1), 7 – Playmea Tune (8-1), 8 – Great Navigator (20-1).

The Grade 3 Mr. Prospector is for 3-year-olds and up dashing seven furlongs on the main track and the scheduled post time is 4:48 PM ET.

Mr. Prospector Analysis (Top Contenders)

Morning line favorite White Abarrio will scratch out of this event. He will train up to the G1 Pegasus World Cup in January.

Knightsbridge is a fragile 4-year-old colt for Bill Mott and this is the first time that he does not have a layoff line between starts. He is 3-for-5 overall with a second and a third, and he is 2-for-3 at this trip. He romped at Gulfstream last year and returned with a fast win at seven panels in the mud on Nov. 22. He drilled a bullet for this on Dec. 17 and will probably win this as the favorite.

Super Chow set the pace before fading in this event last year. He has a good overall record at Gulfstream and he handles this extended sprint distance. He is reportedly training well for this and should impact the pace.

Playmea Tune is 5-for-9 on all-weather ground and he stalked from the inside post and split a 10-horse field in this event last year. He exits a win at this distance at Woodbine and might be able to hit the board under John Velazquez.
