By Jarrod Horak

In this horse racing handicapping video, I analyze the Grade 3, $100,000 Red Carpet Stakes at Del Mar using Today’s Racing Digest Fractional Charting and Fast Figs.

Red Carpet field: 1- Mahina (20-1), 2 – Mrs. Astor (5-2), 3 – Hey Jessie (15-1), 4 – Will Then (4-1), 5 – Public Assembly (5-1), 6 – Paradise Lake (8-1), 7 – Sun of Hill (20-1), 8 – Cornelia Fort (15-1), 9 – Venganza (8-1), 10 – Musical Rhapsody (5-1).

The Red Carpet (race 7) will be held at Del Mar on Sunday, November 23, 2025.

Red Carpet Analysis:

Mahina is off her game recently and failed to crack the top three in seven local turf attempts.

Mrs. Astor is the deserving favorite for Jonathan Thomas. The consistent mare won this event last year.

Hey Jessie exits a turf win at 1 1/4 miles at Santa Anita. The California-bred sophomore filly steps up in class.

Will Then is a 3-year-old filly taking on older company for the first time. She captured the Grade 3 Jimmy Durante at Del Mar last fall.

Public Assembly won the Grade 3 Royal Heroine at Santa Anita earlier this year. She has had success at longer distances and is classy and fast enough to compete with these.

Paradise Lake exits a victory at a mile and an eighth on turf at Santa Anita. She steps up in class and has never gone this far.

Sun of Hill finished out of the trifecta in her last four starts and has yet to have success at this course and distance.

Cornelia Fort finished a half-length behind Hey Jessie last time and might impact the pace.

Venganza might not want to go this far. She finished 8th in the local CTT and TOC at this distance in August.

Musical Rhapsody was in good form at Santa Anita earlier this year. Her recent local form is suspect and she is winless in six attempts at Del Mar.
