The road to Kentucky Oaks 2024 continues at Fair Grounds on Saturday, March 23, and I have included Fair Grounds Oaks 2024 picks below. The Grade 2 event for 3-year-old fillies has a $400,000 purse and the eight entrants will be journeying 1 1/16 miles on the main track. The Fair Grounds Oaks is the 11th race on March 23 and the top five finishers will earn Kentucky Oaks points (100-50-25-15-10). 

Fair Grounds Oaks 2024 Picks & Final Time Ratings

Tarifa cruised in her seven panel bow at Keeneland last fall and disappointed as the favorite second time out. She stalked and scored as the favorite in an optional-claiming dirt route at Fair Grounds on Jan. 20, and worked out a great inner stalking trip in a victory over Intricate in the Rachel Alexandra Stakes on Feb. 17. Flavien Prat got to know her last time and she figures to stalk the pace once again. 

Intricate ran out of ground in her sprint debut last September. She rolled home from off the pace over a route of ground second time out, and was even stronger in a facile victory in the Grade 2 Golden Rod in November. The daughter of Gun Runner finished with interest for the place in the Rachel Alexandra Stakes last time, and she might move up in her second start after a layoff. 

Our Pretty Woman is unbeaten and untested after two local starts in the slop. She stalked and scored in her bow on Jan. 18 and that race was originally scheduled for turf. She controlled the pace as the winning favorite on Feb. 17, and the $500k daughter of Medaglia d’Oro might be the one to catch for the productive Joel Rosario and Steve Asmussen team.   

The Fair Grounds Oaks field also includes Pocahontas (G3) winner V V’s Dream, Midsummer March, Alpine Princess, Lucy Got Game, and Louisiana-bred stakes winner Accommodate Eva.
