Del Mar’s Bing Crosby Season continues on Saturday, November 25 and I have included Seabiscuit 2023 picks below. The Grade 2 event for 3-year-olds and up has a $200,000 purse and the eight entrants will be traveling 1 1/16 miles on the turf course. It is the 7th race on Nov. 25.

Seabiscuit 2023 Picks & Final Time Ratings

Sumter stretches back out and should be forwardly placed from the inside post. Last year, he set the pace and held on by a nose in the Singletary at one mile, and was 3rd in the Mathis Mile. He is 0-for-5 this year but did show signs of life in a runner-up finish in an allowance turf sprint at Santa Anita on Oct. 20.

Easter loves a flat mile and exits a sharp win at that distance as my best bet top choice in the restricted Lure Stakes on Oct. 28. Phil D’Amato is his new trainer and he will try to get involved late under Antonio Fresu.

Balnikov won the restricted Oceanside and Grade 3 Bryan Station as a sophomore last year. He made the grade in the San Francisco Mile (G3) earlier this spring, and landed the place in the local Grade 2 Eddie Read in July. He misfired in his last pair and the Sept. 30 Eddie D (G2) at 6 1/2 furlongs on turf was too short for him. He drilled a local turf bullet for this on Nov. 12 and reconnects with Hector Berrios.

Hong Kong Harry got back on the winning track in a neck victory under Juan Hernandez in the City of Hope Mile (G2) on Sept. 30. They decided to skip the Breeders’ Cup Mile due to the toughness of that heat. He won this race last year and could easily repeat, and he should get the jump on the closers.

Yes This Time has not won in quite some time and seems overmatched. He hit the board in 6 of his last 10 starts. He was 6th in the John Henry (G2) last time.

Cabo Spirit raced evenly when completing the trifecta in the restricted Lure on Oct. 28. You have to go back to the 2022 Twilight Derby (G2) to find his last win and he seems a cut or two below the top contenders in this race.

Astronomer should be part of the pace along with Sumter. This 4-year-old gelding won the Golden Mile at Del Mar last fall and captured a local optional-claiming race at one mile on Aug. 19. He set the pace and missed by a neck in the City of Hope Mile (G2), and pressed the pace before fading in the BC Mile.

Front Run the Fed is a late running turf sprinter trying a longer distance. He captured two turf sprints this year including a stakes race at Colonial Downs in July.
