Forward Gal Stakes 2024 Picks

The road to Kentucky Oaks 2024 continues at Gulfstream Park on Saturday, February 3, and I have included Forward Gal Stakes 2024 picks below. The Grade 3 event for 3-year-old fillies has a $125,000 purse and the seven entrants will be journeying seven furlongs on the main track. The Forward Gal is the 10th race on Feb. 3 and the top five finishers will earn Kentucky Oaks points (20-10-6-4-2). 

Forward Gal Stakes 2024 Picks & Final Time Ratings

R Harper Rose was the favorite in all four starts and she easily won her first three sprints. She set the pace over a route of ground in the My Dear Girl on Dec. 2, and she was clearly second best that day. She is back in a sprint and might get back on the winning track for Saffie Joseph Jr. 

Nikitis has the advantage of two good races at seven panels but those were maiden events. Chad Brown’s $535k Audible filly projects a decent stalking trip under Irad Ortiz.

Scalable stretched out and landed the place as a maiden in her second career start in the Chandelier (G2) last fall, and ended her juvenile campaign with a respectable 5th of 12 in the BC Juvenile Fillies (G1). She returned to the special weight ranks in a local flat mile affair on Jan. 4, and she stalked the pace and ran away from three rivals in a 6 length tally at 60 cents on the dollar. Jose Ortiz stays put and he has good stats with Todd Pletcher, and an outside stalking trip is expected.

Witwatersrand competed in a trio of all-weather races at Woodbine last year. She dueled and prevailed in her 6 1/2 furlong bow, and battled on the pace and held the show in the Glorious Song at this distance second time out. She stretched out and captured the Grade 3 Mazarine by 2 3/4 lengths when last seen in November. Mystic Lake, the Mazarine show finisher, returned to wire the field in the Gasparilla at seven panels on dirt at Tampa on Jan. 13. She is a logical early-pressing contender if she handles conventional dirt. 

The Forward Gal field also includes Kissedbyanangel, Fiona’s Magic, and Chi Chi.
