Tom’s Regret: Quick Early Fractions While Staying With Dueling Leader To Lose By a Nose

Four year old filly for Steve Miyadi, off since July of last year, made her 2024 debut in a 2nd allowance condition race at ¾ on the turf on Saturday. Off at 3/1 in a field of five, she hopped a bit at the start to be away slowly, but quickly ran up to the leaders from the two hole and battled for the early lead. They went quick early with fractions of 22.29 and 44.60, and she stayed with the dueling leader until the 1/8 pole, but was still game to the wire to lose by just a length. This consistent filly has never missed the board in 9 starts and was Grade 3 placed on the turf last year as a sophomore. She is best with a target to run at, handles turf or dirt, and is good enough to knock out this condition.
