Show Card: May be a Late Bloomer For Top Filly Stakes

Three year old filly for Bob Baffert made her 3rd career start on Saturday in a maiden special weight event at ¾ on the main. Off at 4/5 in a small field of just five, she stalked the pace from the inside, swung out for room at the ¼ pole under J.J., then exploded late within the 1/8 pole to win going away by three and a half at the wire. By super sire Into Mischief, she is bred to go long, run on the turf, or stay sprinting. She is a bit behind the other talented three year olds in this barn, but she just may be a late bloomer for some of the top filly stakes later on this year.

Generally horses that are on the Horses To Watch list ran into unexpected trouble, bad luck, and/or didn’t run the race we believe Show Card was cabable of.  We expected that if Show Card gets a good trip in their next start than we should see an improvement in Show Card performance figures.  Use the performance figures earned in Show Card last race (listed above) and compare them to the field and pars of Show Card next start.  If Show Card appears to have earned higher performance figures in the last race when running into trouble  as compared to the rest of the field’s expected perfomance in the upcoming race than there is a good chance that Show Card will dominate the race.

Helpful Tip:  So that it’s easy for you to compare a horse’s past performance, Today’s Racing Digest’s Performance Figures for upcoming races are based on how we expect the horse to perform in that race regardless of any changes in race conditions.  Learn More:
