Ruby Nell: Can Win Short Or Long For a Hall of Fame Barn

Three year old filly for Richard Mandella tried the Autumn Miss Stakes on Sunday at a mile on the turf for soph fillies. Off at 5/2 and bet down from a M/L of 5/1, she stumbled badly at the start and went to her knees but quickly recovered under Maldonado. In a field of 8, she still got the lead into the clubhouse turn, then opened up 10 on the back side through wicked fractions of 22.61 and 45.46 for the half. She still had 10 on the field at the top of the lane and cruised on home to win by six and ran the last quarter in 24 flat for a final time of 1:32.67, which is awfully fast. She can win short or long and is just getting better for this Hall of Fame barn.
