Gentle (GB): Bad Trip and Finished 3rd On Sheer Class Can Improve

Three year old filly for George Papaprodromou was in for the 1st allowance condition on Sunday after breaking her maiden impressively over this turf course 3 weeks ago. However, once her regular rider, Umberto Rispoli, took off all of his mounts Sunday, “Papa” didn’t use good judgement in selecting the veteran Jose Valdivia to ride this filly. In one of the worst rides of the meet, he had “Gentle” all over the place in this mile and a sixteenth event on the turf. He broke her slowly, then rushed her up between horses to vie for the lead into the clubhouse turn. He then lost control of her into the turn when going 7 wide, then continued to use her up on the back side by opening up four on the field. Obviously she was dead tired at the top of the lane and the others swept by her late. She did finish third on sheer class. No wonder this trainer has won just twice in 66 starts at this meet. If Rispoli rides her back up at Arcadia, jump back on board. She is easily good enough to knock out this condition.
