Bit’s Tiger Magic: Bred To Win Early and Like the Turf

Three year old filly for Peter Miller made start #2 on Sunday and 1st on the grass in a maiden special weight event for Cal bred soph fillies at six furlongs. Off as the 6/5 choice in a full field of 11 runners, she went right to the lead under J.J. from her outside slot and set quick fractions of 21.85 and 44.66 for the half. She had 3 on the field down the back side and then shut the door on all of them with a final quarter in 24.24 to win off by 8 open lengths while geared down the final 100 yards. The rider never touched the stick the entire trip. This daughter of the strong Smiling Tiger stallion and an In Excess mare is bred to win early and like the turf. She did both of those in start #2 and it doesn’t take a whole lot to win the 1st allowance condition for Cal bred fillies. She appears to have a bright future for a barn that has been having a tough Santa Anita meet.
