Uffda: Expect Improvement In Longer Turf Sprints at Santa Anita

Two year old filly for Eric Kruljac made her debut in Friday’s opener, a 5/8 turf sprint for maiden special weights. Off at 25/1 in a 9 horse field, she broke OK under Ricky Gonzalez and relaxed nicely on the fence down the back side, five lengths from the leaders. The jock kept her on the fence until the 1/8 pole, moved out for room at that point, then finished strongly on the outside to get third beaten two and a half at the wire. She will appreciate the longer turf sprints up at Arcadia as she finished in strong fashion in her debut. She was a bargain $4000 purchase at the Keeneland yearling sale.

Generally horses that are on the Horses To Watch list ran into unexpected trouble, bad luck, and/or didn’t run the race we believe Uffda was cabable of.  We expected that if Uffda gets a good trip in their next start than we should see an improvement in Uffda performance figures.  Use the performance figures earned in Uffda last race (listed above) and compare them to the field and pars of Uffda next start.  If Uffda appears to have earned higher performance figures in the last race when running into trouble  as compared to the rest of the field’s expected perfomance in the upcoming race than there is a good chance that Uffda will dominate the race.

Helpful Tip:  So that it’s easy for you to compare a horse’s past performance, Today’s Racing Digest’s Performance Figures for upcoming races are based on how we expect the horse to perform in that race regardless of any changes in race conditions.  Learn More:
