Howin: This Daughter Of Gun Runner Handled Everything Nicely Like a Pro

Two year old filly for Bob Baffert made her debut on Saturday at a mile on the main in a maiden special weight event. Pounded down to 6/5 in a field of 8, she made the running right from the get go under J.J. and was third coming out of the clubhouse turn just two off the pace with a quick 1st quarter in 22.39. J.J. sent her for the lead at the 3/8 pole, opened up 2 at the top of the lane, then cruised on home to win by four at the wire with some nice fillies in her rear view mirror. Now it’s tough to break your maiden going two turns in one’s debut, even for Baffert, but this daughter of Gun Runner handled everything nicely like a real pro. She looks like stakes material in the not too distant future.
