She’s Not Kidding: Checked Badly and Shuffled Back Then Rallied for 2nd

Three year old filly for Brian Koriner had a very rough trip in her 2nd career start in the opener on Saturday. Off at 5/1 in a field of six and breaking from the rail in this 5/8 turf sprint, she broke OK under Fresu and sat 2nd down the back side hugging the rail. She ran up on the leader’s heels at the ¼ pole, checked badly, then got shuffled back a bit. She re-rallied at the top of the lane, tried to split horses when there wasn’t a seam, checked again, then finally found room at the 1/8 pole, but the race was over. She was beaten a length and a half by her stable mate who wired the field. She was best today and the rail post cost her more than anything. This was her first start on the turf and she should find a field she can beat up at Arcadia with a clean trip.
