Unwritten Code: Battled on the Front End While Putting Them Away at the Final Turn

Four year old filly for Jorge Periban is razor sharp right now and was shooting for her third consecutive win on Friday when entered for $25,000 in a turf race at five and a half furlongs. This speed ball had stopped in all three previous tries on the lawn, but today she battled on the front end with two other horses, put them away turning for home, and went on to win by five at the wire. She is best on the main track and they won’t write this distance very often on the grass once the turf dries out completely. Nobody dropped the slip to claim her so Periban will take her right up the ladder and she can handle either surface.
