Kentucky Derby winner Mystik Dan galloped a mile and an eighth in his first day at the track since winning the Derby on the first Saturday in May. He will return to the track to train on May 9 for Ken McPeek, and his Preakness status should come into clear focus this coming weekend.
In other Preakness news, Uncle Heavy is a confirmed Preakness starter. The Grade 3 Withers hero was last seen finishing a wide 5th in the Wood Memorial (G2).
