The Grade 2, $350,000 Raven Run Stakes will be run at Keeneland on Saturday, October 19, 2024. The ten sophomore fillies will travel seven panels on the main track and Emery is the 7-5 morning line favorite. The Grade 2 Raven Run goes as the ninth race on Saturday with a scheduled post time of 5:16 p.m. EDT.

Raven Run Stakes Analysis

#5 Emery (7-5) won her first three starts as the favorite this year including the Victory Ride (G3). She set the pace and was second best behind Ways and Means in the Test (G1) in the mud last time. She is 1-for-1 at Keeneland and her early-pressing versatility should serve her well in this extended sprint. Tyler Gaffalione has ridden her five times and she won four of those races and was second in the other one. Brad Cox is 7-for-21 at Keeneland and she fired in both starts at this distance.

#2 Miuccia (6-1) ran well in her last three stakes starts. She looked good winning the Game Time, finished a distant second in the Azalea, and was a close third in the Prioress (G3) Aug. 31 (runner-up Two Sharp next-out allowance winner).

#3 My Mane Squeeze (4-1) rallied to win the Dogwood (G2) by 5 lengths Sept. 21. She fired trifecta shots in all five starts at seven panels and she will try to get involved from off the pace.

#10 Haulin Ice (12-1) finished out of the trifecta for the first time in eight starts when finishing up the track as the beaten favorite in the Charles Town Oaks (G2) Aug. 23. Some horses do not handle the tricky half-mile bullring in West Virginia so I will just draw a line through her last start. The early-pressing filly drew the comfortable outside post.
