Worcester: Strong Close With Fine Effort Soon to Take Winners Circle

Three year old colt for Bob Baffert made start #2 in the opener on Sunday at six and a half on the main for maiden special weights. Off at 8/1 in a field of 7, he broke alertly under J.J. and sat third down the back side three lengths off the pace. J.J. put him to a drive at the ¼ pole and loomed a threat at the top of the lane, but the odds on favorite had too much of a lead and he finished a strong second beaten one and a half at the wire. He was closing steadily down the lane in a fine effort. He’s a soon winner for the top connections at this track and this was his first start with Lasix.
