Thought Process: Responds Quickly When Asked and Looks Like Stakes Material

Two year old filly for Phil D’Amato made start #2 on Saturday and it was her 1st time on the lawn and 1st time going two turns. This daughter of Collected handled both assignments well as she broke her maiden in style with Hector Berrios in the irons. Breaking from the 9 hole in this 9 horse field at a mile on the turf, she broke running and then settled in 4th out of the clubhouse turn just 4 back of the leaders. Berrios asked her for run the 3/8 and she responded quickly and had the lead at the top of the lane, then just cruised on home to win by five without being asked very much. She looks like stakes material later on this year and D’Amato knows what to do when he gets a good turf filly.

Generally horses that are on the Horses To Watch list ran into unexpected trouble, bad luck, and/or didn’t run the race we believe Thought Process was cabable of.  We expected that if Thought Process gets a good trip in their next start than we should see an improvement in Thought Process performance figures.  Use the performance figures earned in Thought Process last race (listed above) and compare them to the field and pars of Thought Process next start.  If Thought Process appears to have earned higher performance figures in the last race when running into trouble  as compared to the rest of the field’s expected perfomance in the upcoming race than there is a good chance that Thought Process will dominate the race.
