Tees Touch (GB): Much Needed Race Here Should Be Tighter Next Time Out

Three year old gelding for Phil D’Amato made his 2nd career start and 1st in this country on Sunday in a maiden special weight event at ¾ on the lawn. Off at 8/1 in a field of 8, he broke running under Franco and chased the leader down the back side, just two off the lead. He did all he could to catch the even money favorite in the lane, but came up a long neck short at the wire, but it was five back to the third horse. He hadn’t been to the post since last June in England and ran a good 2nd there at 40/1. In a race he probably needed, he’ll be much tighter for his next start and should handle two turns as well. He’s a soon winner for the top turf barn in California.
