Three year old filly for Doug O’Neill tried the 1st allowance condition for “open” runners in the finale Saturday at six and a half down the hill, 3 and up. Off at 12/1 in a full field of 12 runners and drawing the rail, she ran a bang up second after tracking the pace down the hill and rallying late under Gutierrez to miss by just a half at the wire. This was just her 6th career start and her 3rd on the turf, where she has never been worse than 2nd. This race sets her up perfectly to win at 5/8 on the turf at Del Mar where she has already won her Cal bred condition. She has a strong combination of speed and stamina for these turf sprints. She’s a soon winner for the always strong O’Neill barn.
