Stagger Lee: 5 Back Down Back Side and Finished 2nd With Courage

Two year old colt for Steve Miyadi made start #2 on Friday In a Cal bred maiden special weight event at 5/8 on the lawn. Off at 5/2 in a field of 8, he broke OK under J.J. but was pretty much void of any early speed. He was five back down the back side, swung out at the top of the lane for room, then finished with good courage out in the middle of the course to finish second. He was beaten two at the wire and it was another two back to the third horse. He will appreciate the longer sprints up at Arcadia and he is bred to run long as well. The underrated Miyadi has a soon winner on his hands for California breeder Nick Alexander.
