Southern Horse (ARG): Lot’s of Options Can Win Right Back

Eight year old full horse for D’Amato is aptly named being bred south of the equator in Argentina. Having not raced since June, he surfaced in a good spot in a $50,000 claimer Saturday for older runners at six and a half on the turf coming out of the chute. Bet down to 9/5 in a field of 7, he was void of early speed and fell 7 lengths back of the leaders down the back side. J.J. kept him on the fence, angled out perfectly at the top of the lane, and rolled late to get up and win by two comfortably. He can get a mile but is best as a late running sprinter, and being 8 years old now, D’Amato pretty much has a license to steal as I doubt anyone will be dropping the claim slip. Plus he still has the 1st allowance condition available. Lots of options and he can win right back.
