Upcoming Race: Keeneland October 10, 2024 Slider: Son of Jimmy Creed Will Be Tighter in 2nd Start

Two year old colt for John Sadler made his debut in Saturday’s opener at five and a half on the main for maiden special weights. Off at 8/1 in a six horse field, he came out running under Hector Berrios and got caught up in a pace duel through wicked fractions of 21.23 and 44.51 for the half. He disposed of the other speed at the top of the lane but could not hold off the odds on favorite late, as that ultra fast 1st quarter took its toll the final sixteenth. Sadler is only 6% these days with debut runners but does much better their second time to the post. This son of Jimmy Creed will be much tighter for start #2 and it will take an awfully good horse to beat him. He’s “single” material next time to the post.

Generally horses that are on the Horses To Watch list ran into unexpected trouble, bad luck, and/or didn’t run the race we believe Slider was cabable of.  We expected that if Slider gets a good trip in their next start than we should see an improvement in Slider performance figures.  Use the performance figures earned in Slider last race (listed above) and compare them to the field and pars of Slider next start.  If Slider appears to have earned higher performance figures in the last race when running into trouble  as compared to the rest of the field’s expected perfomance in the upcoming race than there is a good chance that Slider will dominate the race.

Helpful Tip:  So that it’s easy for you to compare a horse’s past performance, Today’s Racing Digest’s Performance Figures for upcoming races are based on how we expect the horse to perform in that race regardless of any changes in race conditions.  Learn More:
