Second and Reed: Stumbled Entering First Term Can Improve in Next Start

Was pulling on the jock entering the first turn, then got rank around the turn and stumbled nearly losing the rider around the first turn. Understandably, the jock seemed to see if he was OK as he was high in the saddle up the backstretch. The soph didn’t seem any worse for wear as he was only a few lengths back around the far turn and made a small bid entering the stretch only to flatten out late. It appears this guy has found a home on the turf and maybe he merits another chance over it.

Generally horses that are on the Horses To Watch list ran into unexpected trouble, bad luck, and/or didn’t run the race we believe Second and Reed was cabable of.  We expected that if Second and Reed gets a good trip in their next start than we should see an improvement in Second and Reed performance figures.  Use the performance figures earned in Second and Reed last race (listed above) and compare them to the field and pars of Second and Reed next start.  If Second and Reed appears to have earned higher performance figures in the last race when running into trouble  as compared to the rest of the field’s expected perfomance in the upcoming race than there is a good chance that Second and Reed will dominate the race.
