Rothschild: $700K Son of Top Sire Uncle Mo Just Might Be Worth It

Two year old colt for Tim Yakteen made start #2 on Friday at six and a half on the main for maiden special weights. Off at 7/1 in a field of six and drawing the rail, he broke well under Ray Vasquez and had the lead by the half mile pole. On a track playing on the slow side, he increased that lead by two at the top of the lane, then found another gear when roused, and went on to win by six at the wire. There were some nice runners behind him today including two Baffert runners. This son of top sire Uncle Mo cost $700K at the Keeneland yearling sale and he just might be worth it. He’s ready for stakes competition and he can get two turns as well.

Generally horses that are on the Horses To Watch list ran into unexpected trouble, bad luck, and/or didn’t run the race we believe Rothschild was cabable of.  We expected that if Rothschild gets a good trip in their next start than we should see an improvement in Rothschild performance figures.  Use the performance figures earned in Rothschild last race (listed above) and compare them to the field and pars of Rothschild next start.  If Rothschild appears to have earned higher performance figures in the last race when running into trouble  as compared to the rest of the field’s expected perfomance in the upcoming race than there is a good chance that Rothschild will dominate the race.

Helpful Tip:  So that it’s easy for you to compare a horse’s past performance, Today’s Racing Digest’s Performance Figures for upcoming races are based on how we expect the horse to perform in that race regardless of any changes in race conditions.  Learn More:
