Procrastination: Good Enough For This Condition Turf or Dirt

Three year old filly for Mike McCarthy tried the turf for the 1st time in her four race career in Saturday’s opener and handled it just fine. Off at 2/1 in a field of just five for the 1st allowance condition at ¾ on the sod, she was away OK from the gate and sat in 3rd down the back side 3 off the leaders. She moved into contention at the ¼ pole, and then made a good run on the outside but was beaten by a horse with a dream trip up the rail. She got beat a length and a half but it was three back to the third horse. She was stakes placed as a juvenile and she’s good enough to knock out this condition, turf or dirt.

Generally horses that are on the Horses To Watch list ran into unexpected trouble, bad luck, and/or didn’t run the race we believe Procrastination was cabable of.  We expected that if Procrastination gets a good trip in their next start than we should see an improvement in Procrastination performance figures.  Use the performance figures earned in Procrastination last race (listed above) and compare them to the field and pars of Procrastination next start.  If Procrastination appears to have earned higher performance figures in the last race when running into trouble  as compared to the rest of the field’s expected perfomance in the upcoming race than there is a good chance that Procrastination will dominate the race.
