Party On Girl (IRE): Late Running Sprinter Who Can Get the Mile

The name of this five year old mare fits my wife perfectly but that’s not the reason she made this listing. Off at 5/1 under leading rider J.J. Hernandez, this mare was in for the 1st allowance condition for fillies and mares 3 and up Saturday at 5/8 on the turf. She was pretty much void of any early speed in this 10 horse affair and was mid pack down the back side about six off the dueling leaders. J.J. cut the corner with her turning for home, then found a seam between horses at the 1/16 pole, and she gobbled up the ground and looked like the winner at the wire. It was a perfect ride from the jock but the photo came back for Just Nails, one of the dueling leaders, who also runs like her name. Party on Girl lost the nose bob when everyone in the park thought she had won, including the announcer who continues to struggle at this meet. 5/8 is just too short for this mare anyways and now that she’s in the Phil D’Amato barn, the longer sprints at Anita will fit her like a glove. She’s a late running sprinter but can get a mile if needed, and she will knock out this condition in the very near future.
