Origami (IRE): Needed This Race And Will Be Much Tighter In Next Start

Two year old Irish bred filly for Jack Sisterson made her U.S. debut in the Grade 3 Cecil B. DeMille stakes Sunday at a mile on the turf and she was the lone filly in the race. Off at 6/1 in a field of 7 with two late scratches, she received a lot of early money in this race being 2/1 from the first click of the board and staying there for 20 minutes. Of course, J.J. Hernandez was the rider and he won five on the day, so that may have had something to do with the tote action. She broke OK from the two hole and quickly was taken in hand and was fifth down the back side, five back of the lonesome leader who got away with crawling fractions. J.J. swung her to the outside at the top of the lane and she put in a good run to get third, but had no shot at the odds on winner who easily wired the field. She obviously needed this race, her first since July, and she will be much tighter in her next start, as she had no chance with this pace scenario. Put her on your stable watch as Sisterson trains in the Midwest and her next start will be somewhere back east. She’s a soon winner for a very competent barn.

Generally horses that are on the Horses To Watch list ran into unexpected trouble, bad luck, and/or didn’t run the race we believe Origami (IRE) was cabable of.  We expected that if Origami (IRE) gets a good trip in their next start than we should see an improvement in Origami (IRE) performance figures.  Use the performance figures earned in Origami (IRE) last race (listed above) and compare them to the field and pars of Origami (IRE) next start.  If Origami (IRE) appears to have earned higher performance figures in the last race when running into trouble  as compared to the rest of the field’s expected perfomance in the upcoming race than there is a good chance that Origami (IRE) will dominate the race.
