Optic Way: Good Effort While Uncomfortable In First Half of Race

Broke well, but jock seemed indecisive as to whether go for the lead or settle. He did decide to settle early and was in midpack of eight other runners who were separated by about four lengths up the backstretch. The jock sent him to the outside entering the stretch and he ran on for 3rd while no threat to the winner. Not a bad effort in a race where he likely wasn’t too comfortable for the first half.

Generally horses that are on the Horses To Watch list ran into unexpected trouble, bad luck, and/or didn’t run the race we believe Optic Way was cabable of.  We expected that if Optic Way gets a good trip in their next start than we should see an improvement in Optic Way performance figures.  Use the performance figures earned in Optic Way last race (listed above) and compare them to the field and pars of Optic Way next start.  If Optic Way appears to have earned higher performance figures in the last race when running into trouble  as compared to the rest of the field’s expected perfomance in the upcoming race than there is a good chance that Optic Way will dominate the race.
