Oobubbakakayo: Race Did Him Well Follow If Stays In Cal Bred Ranks

Three year old gelding for Ryan Hanson made his debut in Saturday’s opener, a Cal bred maiden special weight event at ¾ on the turf for sophomores. Off at 9/1 in a field of 10, he was pretty much void of any early speed under Dettori and fell 8 lengths off the pace down the back side. Dettori swung him to the outside at the ¼ pole and he started passing some horses, then found his best stride at the 1/8 pole and rallied boldly to get third, beaten just a length and a half at the wire. This race will do him a world of good and he is one to follow, as he looks like a soon winner as long as they keep him in the Cal bred ranks.
