No More Ding Dongs: On a Nice Improving Cycle With Good Combo of Speed and Stamina

Three year old gelding for Sean McCarthy made his 4th career start on Sunday in a maiden special weight event for Cal breds at 3/4 on the main. Off at 5/1 in a field of six, he broke running under Joe Talamo and sat a rail trip down the back side, taking all the worst of it down on the rail with three across the track. He put the other speed away at the top of the lane, then just eased clear under confident handling, and won by five at the wire. This was his 2nd strong effort on the main track after two turf tries and he can now head for the 1st Cal bred allowance condition. He’s on a nice improving cycle and has a good combination of speed and stamina. Up the ladder for this son of Idiot Proof.
