Nene Diamond: Can Get the Job Done With a Clean Trip

Four year old filly for Mike Puype was in for the first Cal bred allowance condition at ¾ on the main. Off at 4/1 in a field of 9 under J.J., she never really had a clear path to run in this entire six furlong trip. She broke a step slow, was in sixth between horses down the back side but just three back of the leaders. The jock had her on the rail turning for home waiting for a seam to open but one never did until it was too late. He had plenty of horse and he remained in tight quarters most of the stretch run, but was only beaten a length and a half at the wire finishing third. This filly has never been off the board winning twice, finishing second by a nose, and then today’s third. She has won this condition on the turf so Puype will keep her on the dirt for her next start while still facing the same caliber of horses. She can get the job done with a clean trip
