Man O Rose: Razor Sharp Right Now And Has Won at 5/8 on Turf at Del Mar

Four year old Cal bred gelding for Jeff Mullins couldn’t be any sharper than he is right now, as he beat an excellent Grade 3 type field in Sunday’s opener, a classified allowance race for older runners at ¾ on the sod. Off at 11/1 in spite of just winning three in a row, he stalked the early pace through torrid fractions of 21.92 and 43.91 for the half, went after the leader at the top of the lane, then cruised right on by at the 1/16 pole under a vigorous hand ride by Maldonado. This gelding has never run in a stakes before but he is razor sharp right now and has won at 5/8 on the turf at Del Mar. Look for Mullins to run him back at a stakes at Del Mar and he will be awfully tough to handle.
