Leyas Candy: Impressive Race for Son of Danzing Candy to Win By 7 Under Hand

Four year old colt for Mark Glatt tried the 1st allowance condition for Cal breds on Saturday at a mile on the main track. Bet down to the 9/5 choice in his 2nd attempt to get two turns, he passed the test nicely as J.J. came from just off the pace early, went to the lead on his own at the ½ mile pole, and then extended that lead to 3 at the top of the lane. He cruised on home to win by 7 under a hand ride. Glatt may very well keep him with Cal breds, as he can try to knock out this condition on the lawn without having to face “open” runners. This was an impressive race for the son of Danzing Candy.
