Three year old filly for Phil D’Amato stretched out to a mile for the first time in her three race career on Saturday and showed the quick turn of foot it takes to win on the grass. Off as the 8/5 choice in a field of 10 in this mile maiden special weight, she relaxed nicely for J.J. down the back side and was fifth about five off the leader. The jock angled her out at the 1/8 pole, and she closed stoutly late to win going away at the wire by one. It was visually impressive and she can stay with her own age group at least until April and should be able to knock out the first allowance condition. Trained by turf specialist D’Amato, she is ready to climb the class ladder.

Generally horses that are on the Horses To Watch list ran into unexpected trouble, bad luck, and/or didn’t run the race we believe Laudatory was cabable of. We expected that if Laudatory gets a good trip in their next start than we should see an improvement in Laudatory performance figures. Use the performance figures earned in Laudatory last race (listed above) and compare them to the field and pars of Laudatory next start. If Laudatory appears to have earned higher performance figures in the last race when running into trouble as compared to the rest of the field’s expected perfomance in the upcoming race than there is a good chance that Laudatory will dominate the race.
