Lady Jae: Should Find Winning Spot At Del Mar

Five year old mare for Librado Barocia ran a winning race in the finale on Saturday in this 1st allowance condition race down the hill for fillies and mares 3 and up. Breaking from the one hole in a field of 9 and off at 6/1 under J.J., she went right to the front and quickly opened up three halfway down the hill. This was the first time in her 14 race career she had shown this type of speed sprinting and shows her sharp current form. She still had two on the field at the 1/8 pole, but the favorite caught her in the final strides as she ran too good to lose. As a trainer, Barocia flies quite a bit under the radar, but he wins at a 19% clip so far for the year and has a solid stable. Look for him to find a winning spot for this ultra sharp mare down at Del Mar. She can go short or long but she is turf only.
