Indispensable: 11 Back But Finished 3rd With a Flourish After Going 6 Wide

Three year old colt for John Sadler made his 6th career start, but first on the turf on Saturday, in this 9 furlong maiden special weight event for sophomores. Off at 3/1 in a field of 8, he stumbled badly at the start, went to his knees, but Rosario hung on, and was away last. He was still last coming out of the clubhouse turn about 11 back of the leaders. Still last at the ¼ pole, Rosario swung him to the outside going six wide, then still finished with a flourish out in the middle of the course to get up for third, beaten one at the wire. It was a brave race considering the awful start and he was best today. He really took to the turf and he is bred for it so Sadler has lots of options. He should be getting his diploma in the near future.
