Three year old filly for Bob Baffert made her 2nd career start on Sunday in a conditioned allowance race at six and a half on the main for soph fillies. Off at 2/1 in a field of six and coming off a good maiden victory, she stumbled at the start under J.J. and was away last spotting the field five lengths right at the start. The jock moved her to the outside down the back stretch and she gradually moved up and she was third by the 3/8 pole just two off the leaders. She stuck her head in front at the top of the lane and battled gamely down the stretch, but as it so often happens, the bad start came back to haunt her late and she gave it up at the 1/16 pole. She finished third beaten three at the wire. She may have not won this race even with a clean start as the winner is an ultra game race horse, but she would have been right there. This daughter of Mendlessohn will knock out this condition in the very near future as she is cut out to be a very race horse.

Generally horses that are on the Horses To Watch list ran into unexpected trouble, bad luck, and/or didn’t run the race we believe In Theory was cabable of. We expected that if In Theory gets a good trip in their next start than we should see an improvement in In Theory performance figures. Use the performance figures earned in In Theory last race (listed above) and compare them to the field and pars of In Theory next start. If In Theory appears to have earned higher performance figures in the last race when running into trouble as compared to the rest of the field’s expected perfomance in the upcoming race than there is a good chance that In Theory will dominate the race.
