How About Pavel: Off at 15/1 turning for home led by 2 just missed to stable mate.

Two year old filly for Doug O’Neill was stretched out to a mile for the 1st time in her four race career on Friday and almost stole the race on the front end with the leading rider up. Off at 15/1 in a field of 9, she broke running in this Cal bred maiden special weight at a mile on the turf and had one length on the field into and out of the clubhouse turn. She set moderate fractions of 22.86 and 47.64 for the half and had two on the field at the 3/8 pole. Turning for home she still led by two, looked like the winner at the 1/8 pole, then got nailed very late by her stable mate right on the wire. This daughter of Pavel out of a Square Eddie mare found her hole card today and will be a soon winner for the O’Neill team.
