Greer My Dear: Soon To Be Winner With Hall of Fame Barn

Two year old filly for Richard Mandella made her debut on Sunday in a ¾ sprint on the main for maiden special weights. Off at 13/1 in a field of 9, she broke running under Maldonado from the outside slot and sat third down the back side, just two off the leaders. She stayed in that position turning for home, but then gradually found her stride late and was gaining on the leaders the final sixteenth. She still ended up third to the two favorites, but was only beaten a length at the wire and galloped out like a two turn horse. Mandella will probably have to sprint her again as they are not writing races for juvenile fillies for two turns yet, but in the future that looks where she belongs. Nonetheless, short or long, she appears to be a soon winner for this Hall of Fame barn.
