Devil Among Us: 3rd Off The Pace Turning Home But No Way Around

Three year old colt for Phil D’Amato tried the 1st allowance condition for Cal Breds on Saturday at ¾ on the turf. Off at 2/1 in a field of 9, he broke OK under J.J. and sat third down the back side three off the pace. He had horse turning for home, but the jock decided to go inside and the hole never opened up. He sped his wheels for at least a furlong and J.J. wrapped up on him at the 1/16 pole. This race is a toss out and this son Minister’s Wild Cat is good enough to knock out this condition and he handles turf or dirt. Look for the leading trainer to find the right spot for him and if Hernandez rides him back, all the better.
