Dandy Man Shines (IRE): Rispoli Fits Him Like a Glove and is Set For a Strong Year

Five year old gelding for Jeff Mullins, who has been off since August, settled in for the 2nd allowance condition coming down the hill on Saturday. Off at 2/1 and the co-choice in the wagering, he broke a step slow under Rispoli and was 8 lengths back of the lonely leader halfway down the hill. He closed the gap to four on the dirt crossover, cut the corner at the top of the lane to get within striking distance, but had no answer for the lonely leader who had it all his own way. “Dandy” settled for second beaten two and a half at the wire. He was beaten by the race shape but this was an ideal prep, as he is a much better miler. This barn has been red hot the entire meet and Mullins will find a good mile race for him to knock out this condition. He is stakes placed in graded events twice and should be set for a strong year. Rispoli fits him like a glove.
