Curlin’s Kaos: Strong Visually Impressive Turf of Foot

Three year old gelding for Tony Garcia tried two turns for the first time in his career on Saturday in a maiden special weight affair at a mile on the turf for sophomores. Bet down very late to the 2/1 co-favorite in a field of 9, he checked early right after the break, then was covered up by Herrera and was 7 back of the leaders into and out of the clubhouse turn. The jock kept him on the fence until the 3/8 pole, then asked him for run and he made a huge sweeping wide move and was full of run at the top of the lane. He was six wide at the top of the stretch, but rolled by his opponents to win going away by two and a half. It was a strong, visually impressive turn of foot. He took the blinkers off here but two turns on the grass is his hole card. He’ll have no issue with the first allowance condition.
