Coffee in Bed: Full of Run and Is Sharp Likely Win Next Start

Four year old filly for Richard Mandella tried the Grade 3 La Canada stakes on Saturday for older fillies and mares at a mile and a sixteenth on the main. Off at 6/1 in a six horse field, she broke running under Mike Smith and settled in third into the clubhouse turn and down the back side. Smith kept her on the fence and she was just 3 back of the leaders. He swung her four wide into the stretch and she finished strong out in the middle of the track, but couldn’t get by Desert Dawn in the late stages. She was a good 2nd beaten a length and a half. This daughter of the ultra good sire Curlin is lightly raced and she has the second allowance condition still available. Look for the Hall of Fame conditioner to find a winning spot for her next out as she is full of run and very sharp right now.
