Blissterinthesun: With All The Trouble May Have Been Best Here

Three year old filly for Phil D’Amato, who normally has a lot of early speed, missed the start in Saturday’s finale, a maiden special weight event at 5/8 on the turf for 3 and up. Off at 8/1 in a field of 10, she swerved out at the start from the four hole and impeded her next store neighbor and was quickly in last place down the back side. Then she took up at the 3/8 pole when running up on a horse’s heels under Maldonado. The jock finally gets her to the outside and she finishes with good courage out in the middle of the course to get second beaten two at the wire. With all the trouble she had in this race, she may have very well been best today. She will get another chance before the end of this meet and if Maldonado, a very good speed rider, rides her back, she will be a good play and still should offer some value. It will be her 3rd start off a 7 month layoff, often a horse’s best performance.
