Anisette (GB): Quickly Responded When Asked, One to Beat In Next Start

Three year old filly for Len Powell faced stakes company for the first time on Saturday in the Grade 2 San Clemente at a mile on the turf for soph fillies. Off as the 2/1 choice in a field of 15, she broke OK under Rispoli and then was taken in hand and covered up early. She was 10th down the back side about 9 lengths off the pace and saving ground on the rail. Rispoli asked her for run at the ¼ pole and she quickly went by a wall of horses, swung to the outside at the top of the lane and inhaled the leaders to win going away. It was three and a half at the wire and the gallop out was extremely strong. She will be the one to beat at 9 furlongs on August 19 in the Del Mar Oaks.
