Ancient Peace: Turfdom’s Best Bet Had a Late Run to Win By 4

Two year old filly for Graham Motion made start #2 in Friday’s opener and got a lot of play early, bet down to 3/1 off a morning line of 6/1. Under J.J. she came out running from the two hole in this field of nine at a mile over the turf course in this maiden special weight event. She set early fractions of 23.14 and 47.45 for the half over a strip rated as “good” after some morning rains. She never did get a breather, as she was hounded every step of the way, yet she re-broke at the 1/8 pole and pulled away late to win by four in a very strong performance. Motion has this War Front filly here to stay, as he has 12 horses on the grounds and she looks like stakes material in 2023. Up the ladder. “Peace” was a Turfdom Best Bet on the day.
