The Grade 1, $2 million Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies will be run at Del Mar on Friday, November 1, 2024. Bob Baffert’s filly Non Compliant scratched and that leaves a field of nine. They will travel 1 1/16 miles on the main track and Scottish Lassie is the 5-2 morning line favorite. The BC Juvenile Fillies goes as the seventh race on Friday with a scheduled post time of 6:25 p.m. EDT.
BC Juvenile Fillies field: 1 – Vodka With a Twist (20-1), 2 – Snowyte (15-1), 3 – Immersive (3-1), 4 – La Cara (12-1), 5 – Quickick (10-1), 6 – Otomena Shacho (20-1), 7 – Non Compliant SCRATCHED, 8 – Nooni (15-1), 9 – American Bikini (5-1), 10 – Scottish Lassie (5-2).
BC Juvenile Fillies Analysis
#3 Immersive (3-1) is 3-for-3 for Brad Cox. She was 10-1 in her sprint bow and 12-1 in the Grade 1 Spinaway, and scored as the chalk in the Grade 1 Alcibiades at 1 1/16 miles last time. She stalked in all three starts and will probably work out a similar trip in this race. Brad Cox has a strong record in the Breeders’ Cup (10-for-38). Â
#9 American Bikini (5-1) was 2nd of 10 as the favorite in her sprint bow in Japan, and romped at five panels second time out. She won nicely at seven panels last time and the daughter of American Pharoah is bred to go this far. Nineteen horses from Japan shipped to Del Mar for the Breeders’ Cup this year and there is a very good chance that they end up with at least one winner.Â
#2 Snowyte (15-1) was second in her extended sprint bow and second as a maiden in the Frizette (G1). She added blinkers and was beaten 9 lengths in the Frizette, and the daughter of Good Magic was the beaten favorite that day. She dueled in her bow and rallied from the inside post last time. She is training forwardly for this and is a live longshot. Â
#5 Quickick (10-1) rallied from far back to finish a clear third behind La Cara in her extended sprint bow. She added blinkers and stalked and scored at seven panels second time out, and stretched out and was second best as my top choice in the Alcibiades (G1). They paid $550k for the McKinzie filly and she might be in the hunt for a top three placing. Â
#8 Nooni (15-1) is probably the one to catch for Bob Baffert. She wired the field in her first two starts including the Grade 3 Sorrento. She dueled and faded in the Del Mar Debutante (G1) Sept. 7, and she stretched out, set the pace, and was run down by her stablemate Non Compliant in a clear runner-up finish in the Oak Leaf (G2). She fired a bullet for this Oct. 17 and a gate bullet Oct. 24, and she might get brave if Flavien Prat can make the lead and give her a breather on the backside. Â
#10 Scottish Lassie (5-2) was third as the beaten favorite in her extended sprint bow, and she stalked and graduated by 9 lengths in the Grade 1 Frizette at 6-1 odds Oct. 5. The Frizette was watered down following the defection of three horses including strong favorite Senza Parole. Hot sire McKinzie has a realistic shot at getting his first Breeders’ Cup winner on Friday.
