Canto Della Terra (IRE): Beat 17 In Ireland and Should Be Stakes Material at So. Cal

Three year filly for Phil D’Amato made her U.S. debut on Sunday in a maiden special weight event at ¾ on the lawn. Off as the 4 to 5 choice in a field of 8, she broke slowly and quickly spotted the field five lengths. Prat had her near the rail and she was in 6th place six back by the 3/8 pole. He took her to the fence at the ¼ pole and she was quickly into third place and had dead aim at the leaders. With a quick turn of foot she caught the front runner at the 1/16 pole and then won off by a half at the wire. This daughter of the good sire Kodiac looks to have a lot of talent and though she has never been two turns in 4 career starts, she looks like she is crying to go long. She beat 17 horses in Ireland in an allowance race with a purse of $270,600. She is stakes material here in Southern California.
