Tarantino: Fights Everybody from Flag Fall To Finish

Six year old gelding is a new horse since being claimed by Peter Eurton 3 starts back for $40K. On Saturday he was one of six in the Grade 3 Native Diver stakes and ran his third consecutive “game” race while fighting tooth and nail throughout the 9 furlongs on the main track. He came out running under speed rider Maldonado and was head and head down the back side with moderate fractions of 23.15 and 46.25. He fell back to second at the top of the lane to the Grade 1 Pacific Classic winner, then re-rallied down on the fence at the 1/8 pole. The race set up perfectly for a closer and Skinner got the money by ¾ of a length, but Tarantino fought back gamely from the inside and got second. I doubt that there is more of a game race horse on the circuit than this son of Pioneer of the Nile, who fights everybody from flag fall to finish. I suspect Eurton will keep him in overnight stakes or an allowance non winners of three other than. Look for him to run big on the Arcadia main track in late December of January.

Generally horses that are on the Horses To Watch list ran into unexpected trouble, bad luck, and/or didn’t run the race we believe Tarantino was cabable of.  We expected that if Tarantino gets a good trip in their next start than we should see an improvement in Tarantino performance figures.  Use the performance figures earned in Tarantino last race (listed above) and compare them to the field and pars of Tarantino next start.  If Tarantino appears to have earned higher performance figures in the last race when running into trouble  as compared to the rest of the field’s expected perfomance in the upcoming race than there is a good chance that Tarantino will dominate the race.

Helpful Tip:  So that it’s easy for you to compare a horse’s past performance, Today’s Racing Digest’s Performance Figures for upcoming races are based on how we expect the horse to perform in that race regardless of any changes in race conditions.  Learn More:
